History of Marco Supply Company In January of 1970 Dave Jones founded Marco Supply. Starting simply in his basement Dave was able to move the company into its own space and hire its first employee in September of that year. During the next few years Marco spread out from the Roanoke, VA area to cover most of Southwestern and Central Virginia. In 1975, Greensboro, NC marked the site of the companies' first branch. In the early 1970's very few companies that focused on the emerging tool and fastener supply business had multiple locations. The establishment of the Greensboro branch put Marco on a path that, to this day, separates Marco Supply from most of its competition. Drawing from lessons learned with our original branch, Marco has built a network of locations serving construction firms from Maryland to Georgia. Many of the facilities were started by a single salesperson working from an established location venturing out to the edge of their territory and building a business strong enough to warrant the new branch. Others came from an opportunity to take over several of the direct sales operations of one of Marco's suppliers. Today we continue to strive for "seamless service throughout the Southeast". This will lead to us being available to all of our customers no matter where they travel within the region. Our Mission: ...as a distributor of construction tools, fastening solutions, and related products is to understand our customers' needs and exceed all their expectations. Our goal is to become the best value for our customers. To do this we must all constantly seek opportunities for improvement and profitable growth, and bring to our co-workers the highest quality of work life possible. Our Vision: - We will be recognized as the best value for tools, fasteners, and related construction products.
Our Core Values: - We must do what we say.
- We must constantly improve ourselves, our products, and our operation to exceed all our customers' needs.
- We must look for, and be open to change.
